Jr. Camp Wk 3.

This past week was a lot of fun! Extremely tiring-but a good week of activities and spiritual growth.
I really enjoyed counseling again this week and I got to work with Lydia Brown who came back from her summer of Kako.  We had seven campers and enjoyed working together.:)
Our cabins were on the Buccaneer team this time. Here are all the Buccaneer girls' cabins doing craft...

 Montanna loved his counselor.....
Mrs. Garriss faithfully running the snack-shop.....

Mrs. George led the session songtime.............
Every evening session we had a "science segment" that Mr. George led. He works as a chemistry teacher for BJU.

The fireweed is really popping up all over the place! I was so excited to find lots of it close by our fire spot.

Can you tell I am quite fond of these flowers?
 And some more...;)
I've really enjoyed being in Alaska-the scenery is always so amazing!

Ryan's cabin was on the Swashbucklers-here they are working on a their crafts...
On Wednesday we had what was called "Exploring God's World" where the campers were allotted time to go outside and appreciate God's creation. Lydia and I decided to take the campers on a hike and let them collect things. Back in the cabin we discussed our hike and taped to a sheet of paper, some of the unique things we found on the trail.
The girls were so sweet! Every time they saw fireweed on the trail they'd climb over logs or wade through the plants to get it to give me for my boquet I was making. (They had heard I really liked it.;)
 meal-line up....
A group picture on Wednesday at the picnic spot.......
I really enjoyed counseling with Lydia-we worked really well together!;)
Been very grateful for Peter and Missy-they do a great job directing the program for the week!

Well, this next week is our last week of camp for the summer! It's hard to believe it! Time has gone fast. We've all learned so much and have grown spiritually a lot! This last week will be Primary Camp and I am super excited for tomorrow!!!!!;)

I'm grateful for another experience here in Alaska for the summer. I've enjoyed getting to see the small town side of Alaska and experience different places! I'm hoping to post about my visit to Homer with Susie and another friend I've made this summer.:) The Lord has been very kind to allow us to have a lot more opportunity this summer to see other aspects of life out here. I've missed the family so much and sometimes when they send pictures and updates I almost wish I could be there instantaneously! Ryan and Daniel share these sentiments but we are grateful for the opportunity!

The staff are all very tired and some have been gone for the weekend. Susie and I have really enjoyed having Lydia here this past weekend and have talked enough to fill a book since then!;) Praise the Lord for fellowship. We are looking forward to what the Lord has in store for the last week of camp!:D

Something Mr. Craven's been talking a lot about in Sunday School and here at camp, is the need for endurance. The race of the life of a Christian must be run in faith along side it. This last week, we want to throw ourselves in and give our best, leaving the results up to God, and not "die in the last quarter of the race."

"......let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,  looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
